Texas soldier dies in car accident

According to authorities, a soldier from Fort Bliss lost control of his vehicle while speeding and crashed into another vehicle. The car accident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Sept. 24 in El Paso on Walter Jones Boulevard, a little to the south of Global Reach Drive.

Speed and alcohol possible factors in teen's death

The Harris County Sheriff's Office reported that a teen lost his life, and the driver suffered critical injuries after speeding and alcohol possibly caused the deadly accident on Sept. 15. The two occupants had been watching a televised boxing match before the fatal accident. The driver may have been speeding as he traveled down the street in his Honda Civic when he hit a curb and drove into a tree in the front yard of a residence. Neither person was restrained by a seatbelt when the crash happened. The driver was thrown from the car and transported to a medical facility in critical condition.

Fatal crash allegedly caused by reckless driver

An Aug. 31 fatal accident was caused by a reckless driver, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. A man was driving a 2009 black BMW 351 south on the West Lake Houston Parkway, in the 19900 block, in the outside lane. Beside the BMW, in the inside lane, was a 2013 White Ford Fusion traveling south.

Crash kills five members of "Texas" cast

Five cast members of the musical drama "Texas" were killed Aug. 12 at around 11:30 pm when their Taurus was struck by a tractor-trailer on Highway 287. One other passenger in the car and the truck driver were injured. The cast was heading home after an end of summer cast party just north of Dumas at the home of one of the members of the board of directors of their production company.
