Woman suffers burn injuries in accident on Interstate 10

On the road, small mistakes and lapses in concentration can lead to tragic results. When a car accident happens, the probability of someone incurring a serious injury is quite high. In more tragic cases, lives may be lost due to the negligence of others.

As readers in Houston may have heard, Interstate 10 was closed in the early-morning hours of Jan. 26 due to a serious accident that involved two cars and an 18-wheeler Reports say that the accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. and was caused when a car driven by a 26-year-old woman travelling at a high speed struck with another car. The second car was propelled into the inside wall of the interstate.

The car that had been speeding stopped in the middle of the eastbound lane due to the impact. An 18-wheeler then ended up slamming into the prone car because the truck driver was unable to stop in time.

Reports indicate that the 26-year-old was trapped inside her car while the vehicle caught fire. Several people came to her aid, and she managed to escape the burning car. She was then taken to a hospital where it was said she had burns on a significant proportion of her body, leaving her in critical condition.

While it is fortunate that no fatalities occurred in this accident, it is important to note that negligence while driving can have serious repercussions. Victims of car accidents who suffer serious injuries may find themselves burdened with unexpected medical expenses and other financial costs. If fault can be determined, victims may receive compensation that can help ease their financial worries.
