A young man from Florida moved to Texas because he wanted to become a musician. He felt that Texas would offer him the opportunity to chase that dream. However, when the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team came to Texas to play the Rangers, he just had to go see his old hometown team. The game was on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
While he got to go to the game, all would not end on such a happy note, as the man was fatally struck by a car after it was over. The crash happened in Arlington, Texas. The young man was only 24 years old. He was the grandson of a prominent family in the Tampa area, which is mourning his loss.
The game was played out at Globe Life Park, and it seems that the young man drove there to go to it. However, for reasons that have yet to be determined, he ended up walking down Interstate 30 later that night. That is to the north of the field, and reports indicate that he may have been going to his hotel.
A car was heading west on the interstate, and it hit the man. He did not make it to a hotel before he passed away. The driver of that vehicle has been identified by the police and is apparently cooperating with the investigation.
When a car accident in another state claims the life of a loved one, the family members may want to know about their own legal options, depending on who the police find to be at fault in the accident after they conduct a full investigation. Distance can make the case complex, but those family members still have rights.
