Riding in a vehicle means that you are putting your life in the hands of the person driving. You are trusting that the person will drive safely, follow driving laws and keep you out of harm's way. If the person you are riding with is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you might not be in the safest situation. For one man, taking a ride in a car with a woman who was drinking ultimately led to his demise.
The man was in a car that turned into a Jack in the Box parking lot. He was either fell out of the car or jumped out of it. The man then hit his head and was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge. He died at the hospital. The 41-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle was charged with driving while intoxicated and arrested in connection with this drunk driving accident.
It is horrible to think that this man died of a head injury after jumping out of or falling out of a car being driven by a drunk driver. His family now has to learn how to live without him.
If it is found that the drunk driver is at fault for his demise, his family might have the right to seek compensation for his death. The compensation, if awarded, likely won't lessen the pain caused by his death, but it might help his family to cope with the financial impact of his death. Seeking the advice of a Texas personal injury attorney might help them decide if they should seek compensation.
