Fatal truck crash kills 14 immigrants

In a tragic highway accident, a pickup truck overloaded with illegal immigrants veered off the road, crashing into trees in rural South Texas. There were at least 14 dead and nine injured, according to authorities. According to authorities, the driver was one of the deceased found at the scene. A Ford pickup carrying 23 passengers was heading north on U.S. 59 when it drove off the right side of the highway and crashed into two trees in Berclair, about 90 miles southeast of San Antonio.

Country singer Tracy Byrd and wife injured in Texas car wreck

In a Southeast, Texas accident, country singer, Tracy Byrd, and his wife were injured in a two-vehicle car wreck. Reports stated that a car turned in front of an SUV driven by Byrd when the vehicles collided. According to the Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 69 near Lumberton about 85 miles northeast of Houston.

Crane collapse kills 2 at University of Texas, Dallas

In a tragic construction accident, a crane collapse at the University of Texas killed two workers, according to school officials. Reports indicated that the collapse occurred when workers were dismantling the crane. Witnesses said that the workers were doing their work when an unexpected wind came and knocked over the heavy machinery. Those at the accident scene heard screaming when the crane collapsed onto the workers and the building.

Wrong-way accidents on I-45 kill 5 over weekend

Within a two day-period, five people died in the Houston area in two separate crashes on Interstate 45. Both accidents involved drunken drivers who were driving the wrong direction on the highway. The tragic highway accidents resulted in five deaths that could lead to personal injury and wrongful death claims on behalf of the victims and their families.
